LGBT Film Festival at USC: A Showcase for Emerging Talent

MIA ROSA was thrilled to throw its support behind the recent 9th Annual Don Thompson LGBT Film Festival at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Presented as a fundraiser by former USC Film students, DTFF featured an exceptional array of features and documentaries.

The film fest celebrates the work of USC’s emerging LGBT and ally filmmakers. Started eight years ago as a small scholarship fundraiser by the running group LA Frontrunners, the festival has blossomed into a dynamic USC Lambda signature event.

Proceeds from the festival benefit the Don Thompson Scholarship in Cinematic Arts, which is given to an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the USC School of Cinematic Arts who demonstrates a commitment to advancing LGBT issues through creative work, scholarship, and/or community engagement.

MIA ROSA salutes all the participants and supporters of the annual event. Guest jurors this year included writers Timothy Dowling (Pixels, Role Models, Just Go With It) and Mikki del Monaco (Huffington Post, Director; Alto).
